Our Story
This is where it all began.
History
Claudine founded Hemel House in 1982 when she was a young mother and teacher struggling to find quality care for her one-year-old son. Frustrated by the lack of good childcare options, she decided to apply her teaching skills at home. Her licensed day home marked the beginning of Hemel House.
As more parents sought family day home care for their children, Claudine established the Hemel House agency to meet this growing need. Her goal was to offer high-quality childcare, deliver robust support for day home educators, and offer educational resources to help families build healthy relationships. Hemel House has grown and continues to thrive, thanks to the dedication of the compassionate Hemel House staff and day home educators.
